KMOV

Haley Buckner

Last night I tuned into KMOV news channel 4 St. Louis. The first thing that I noticed about this station was that they were live from a fire. The first anchor that I saw was Vickie Newton and she was wearing a white blouse with black buttons. The first reporter the reporters that I saw were Steve Templeton, Julian Grace, John Mills, and Paul Harris. There were three different live shots. One of them was at a live house fire the second one was on highway I-64 and the third was in the MoDot facility.

The story that they continually talked about in the first fifteen minutes was the closing of the highway. They did shots from MoDot and the highway. They talked about how there are alternate routes that you can you. They also talked about how the road aren’t bad at all and how everyone made a big fuss about the closing and so far everything has ran very smoothly.

Again the hot topic of the day was the I-64 shutdown. My overall impression of the news channel was that they were very repetitive about the same story. They were saying the same thing but in many different ways. Vickie Newton did a very nice job I enjoyed her voice and she seemed interested in what she was talking about so that keep my attention.

I am up in the air about watching this news station again because of how they repeated the same story all with in the first fifteen minutes of the story.
